Yeon was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea.Inspired from an early age by her mother, an avid home sewer, Yeon does not recall a time when she was not creating. By age twelve, highly skilled on the sewing machine, Yeon began reimagining her clothes by using her mother's leftover fabrics.
Despite the wishes of her old-fashioned father, at twenty-one, with a strong desire to learn English and to see the world, Yeon moved to New York City to pursue her dreams.
While at Parsons, Yeon interned with Thakoon and Proenza Schouler. In 2009, prior to graduation, she interned with the design team at Donna Karan. In 2014, Yeon launched her namesake label, spending two years researching and developing exquisite fabrics and apprenticing with the world's best artisans in France.
Yeon designs with a small team in her Greenwich Street Atelier in New York City. From there, each pattern, thoughtfully considered, is brought to life in France. Yeon designs for modern women who appreciate hand-craft, exquisite fabrics and slow fashion. Her pieces are meant to be collected, lived in and cherished for a lifetime.
